We are grateful to Professor Craig for the comments on our recently published article. We agree this is important research that addresses some of the limitations of previous trials of the low FODMAP diet, including our use of dietary advice as the intervention, the use of a placebo-control group and detailed approaches to ensure blinding.1 To clarify, 66% of participants in our study had diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and 34% had mixed or unsubtyped IBS (see Table 1).2
