Damage to the Gastrointestinal Tract From Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs: What About Perforations and the Healing Intestine?

I read with great interest the recent review by Bjarnason et al1 in the Journal. Understanding the specific properties and potential for damage to various nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) is important, as exemplary detailed and discussed in the review. However, there are 2 clinical scenarios that may have been underreported in the clinical understanding of NSAID-induced damage in the gastrointestinal tract.
