Unusual Case of Abdominal Fullness in a Middle-Aged Woman

Question: A 43-year-old woman without a past medical history presented to our hospital with abdominal fullness over the previous 2 months. On physical examination, a mild tenderness was found in the upper abdomen. Laboratory tests showed an increase in C-reactive protein (2.3 mg/dL; normal, <0.14 mg/dL) and a decrease in the albumin level (3.7 g/dL; normal range, 4.1–5.1 g/dL), but no other abnormalities were found. The patient underwent esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGDS) because of suspected upper gastrointestinal disease.
