One possible positive impact of the coronavirus pandemic is that fewer people on the roadways translates to fewer motor vehicle accidents and fewer traumatic injuries. The adult trauma unit at Vanderbilt University Medical Center is on track to admit 65% fewer patients this month from motor vehicle accidents, motorcycle accidents and pedestrians struck by autos, as compared to last April.
