Achieving competency in endoscopy remains a key component of gastroenterology (GI) training programs, and applying established quality indicators (QIs) in endoscopy may help measure both competency and quality in endoscopy among trainees. Previous studies have evaluated QIs in “fellow involved” procedures, but there is no prospective data regarding trainee QI performance and milestones independent of attending contribution. Furthermore, the rate of trainee documentation of QI performance is unclear.
