Time constraints during ambulatory visits in subspecialty clinics can lead to abbreviated histories and increased dissatisfaction among fellow trainees. Because outpatient gastroenterology (GI) clinic visits can cover a wide range of digestive complaints, pre-visit questionnaires (PVQ) are sometimes employed to gather information before the start of the visit. The aim of this quality improvement study was to determine if initiation of a PVQ in our fellows’ clinic can increase trainee satisfaction and improve data capture for fellows.
