Atlas of Esophageal Disease and Intervention: A Multidisciplinary Approach

I read with great interest this hardback book, which is compiled as an atlas of esophageal diseases. The authors should be congratulated for a very nice product, which I am sure will serve as a resource to many interested in better understanding of esophageal diseases. The book was written to serve as “a single reference for anyone caring for patients with esophageal disease,” a high target, which it reached only partially. It contains 10 chapters with numerous color figures ranging from anatomy and histology (Chapters 1 and 2) to esophageal mucosal findings during endoscopy (Chapter 3), radiographic and endoscopic ultrasound anatomy (Chapter 4 and 5), and endoluminal and surgical techniques, as well as the management of esophageal leaks and fistulas (Chapters 6-10).
