On a video shot the day of her surgery, staff members of the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit line the hallway applauding and high-fiving Bridget Perez as she goes to the operating room. Now, a month later, she’s walking laps at the Dayani Center track and marveling at how it feels to breathe again.
