A Patient With Left Upper Abdominal Pain Who Had Petit Sac

Question: A 24-year-old man presented to the emergency room with left upper abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. The pain was sharp, aching, continuous, and could be relieved by leaning forward. Two weeks ago, the patient had presented to another hospital’s outpatient clinic with epigastric pain. Abdominal ultrasonography, performed to exclude early stage of acute appendicitis, was unremarkable. An esophagogastroduodenoscopy had also been performed and revealed Los Angeles classification B reflux esophagitis.
