Pancreatic Cyst After Trauma in a Young Female

Question: A 22-year-old African female presented to South African hospital with a 2-month history of epigastric discomfort. Three months prior she had an electric shock from mains electricity causing her to fall onto her abdomen. This caused some epigastric pain at the time; however, she did not present to hospital until 3 months later. Otherwise, she had no significant past medical or surgical history, she was a nonsmoker, and only occasionally drank alcohol. Physical examination revealed a healthy, well-nourished female with the only notable finding being a palpable epigastric mass that was mildly tender on palpation.
