VUMC is screening patients for COVID-19 using the SARS-CoV-2 PCR test, even in the absence of clinical symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 infection. Screening requires collection of a nasopharyngeal, oropharyngeal, or bilateral nares specimen for SARS-CoV-2 PCR testing.
