This first edition of Telemanagement of Inflammatory Bowel Disease appears to be the first text on telemedicine fully dedicated to inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The editors and chapter authors (from the United States and Denmark) are all experienced in the use of telemedicine and the management of patients with IBD. The aim of the book is to “provide a comprehensive summary of telemedicine in the care of patients with . . . IBD.” This aim is well met, leaving the reader with a broad understanding of the multiple aspects of telemedicine and its applicability to daily practice, as well as the potential impact in improving patient centered care and outcomes in the management of IBD.
