Acute Right Upper Quadrant Abdominal Pain

Question: A 19-year-old man without any medical history of interest was admitted to the emergency room with right upper quadrant abdominal pain. The abdominal pain had started 1 day before admission and was becoming worse. At admission, fever and chills were not present; his vital signs were normal: heart rate 68 beats/min, respiratory rate 18 breaths/min, and blood pressure 120/60 mm Hg.
