Question: A 56-year-old woman with no prior medical history presented to the emergency department with abdominal pain 12 hours after a screening colonoscopy. The procedure was uneventful with no suspicious masses or lesions detected and no biopsies performed. The patient was discharged to home after recovery from anesthesia, where she slept for several hours. She was awoken with right-sided abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal distension.
