It is our distinct privilege and honor to extol Dr Timothy (Tim) C. Wang’s background, experience, expertise, and numerous contributions that underlie his being the recipient of the AGA’s highest honor, the Friedenwald Medal. To that end, he stands tall in his attributes as physician-scientist, educator, mentor, administrator, leader, and compassionate colleague and collaborator. This commentary seeks to capture the essence of Tim and, at the same time, we realize that his achievements and accomplishments could easily extend beyond our summary.
