PRO-INFLAMMATORY SIRPα-EXPRESSING MONOCYTES AND MACROPHAGES MEDIATE ANTI-TNF REFRACTORY CROHN’S DISEASE IN CHILDREN

Crohn’s disease (CD) is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the gastrointestinal tract with detrimental consequences on the pediatric population. Anti-tumor necrosis factor (aTNF) therapies are the only FDA-approved biologics for pediatric CD but one-third fail anti-TNF induction, and of those who initially respond, approximately 15% relapse every year. Consequently, there is a pressing need to elucidate the underlying immunogenetic mechanisms of anti-TNF refractory CD.
