P002 2-ACCETYL-4-TETRAHYDROXYBUTYL IMIDAZOLE AMELIORATES DEXTRAN SULFATE SODIUM-INDUCED COLITIS VIA SUPPRESSION OF SPHINGOSINE-1-PHOSPHATE LYASE

In the field of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), a variety of drug trials targeting on lymphocyte migration got hot during recent years. FTY720, sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) agonist is also targeting S1P receptor on naïve lymphocyte. 2-accetyl-4-tetrahydroxybutyl imidazole (THI) works as an inhibitor of S1P lyase (SPL) and suggests possible immunomodulatory effect. However, whether SPL inhibitor ameliorates colitis or how it works in intestinal immune system have not been clarified. We aimed to reveal the effect of THI on colitis model and the mechanism of action in intestinal immune system regarding lymphocyte migration.
