We read with interest the article entitled “Baseline Parameters in Clinical Trials for Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis: Recommendations From the Liver Forum” by Patel et al.1 We congratulate the authors on a very well-done and in-depth presentation of the potential biomarkers for nonalcoholic steatohepatitis. We support their conclusion that the presented tests may set the basis for a new era of follow-up of these patients in clinical trials. Some of these tests may become the standard of care in clinical practice.
