I felt like it was interesting to see the distortions in social norms and social engagement at play in Second Life. While in the virtual reality, I suddenly saw on my screen that someone was trying to call I was me. I was suprised how viscerally I felt almost attacked. I had thought I was safe behind this keyboard and screen, but it felt almost like someone on the street grabbing my arm. This simulation in the social boundaries are interesting because its not necessarily completely one to one. There are situations where people’s “personal bubble” is very different from that in real life.
