I actually found an article that ties into both aspects of the discussion we held on Wednesday, in which Kuzweil responds to the proposed AI treaty that we read. He implores that banning research into ai weaponry is foolish, as the precursor technology already exists so he feels that black markets or other organizations will fund their development anyway. He makes intelligent arguments, although I think he does appear to see it as a black and white issue, while I think there is more of a possible grey area possible where the international community could regulate the sale and creation of ai weaponry, without outright banning it.
