I am a proud native of Rocket City, AL. I am a physicist by trade, hobby, and passion. But when I’m not slaving away over an optics table, I enjoy playing with my dog, Rocky (Fig. 1). I am currently attempting to learn German, although I think I must have paid for my skill in physics with any talent I may have had in languages. I also help out my dad on our orchard and vineyard back home in Alabama. I used to play competitive table tennis, but my skills have fallen a long way since I started grad school. I like to balance a out the science with the art of the guitar. I play mostly jazz and classical pieces.
