  • Design and drawing work of 440 mlong heavy vehicle suspension bridge at Dobra, Tehri

(Client: Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur) June – August 2013

I was hired as a consultant for a project for a 440 m span heavy vehicle cable suspension bridge on a river by Public Works Department Uttarakhand. In that project I prepared the erection scheme of the bridge girders. In the drawing I explained the launching of bridge girders, i.e. construction scheme based on prevailing site situation. Accordingly, the stage drawings were prepared as the workshop for construction was on one side of the river but the girders needed symmetric erection to avoid eccentric loading in the pylons. I found that the bridge pylons had already been constructed by previous contractor but it was inadequate to carry the new design load. Based on the results of FE analysis of the pylon, I recommended necessary stiffening both within the pylon and in the cross beams— connecting two pylons.

  • Finite element analysis of metal canopy for VRDE

(Client: Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur) January 2014

This was a confidential project.

  • Construction work of Proposed JIS University

(Client: Narula Institute of Technology) January 2013- June 2014

The proposed JIS University building is a new building for Narula Institute of Technology which is under construction. I was involved in the construction of proposed JIS University on behalf of the client (my institution). I occasionally visited the construction site to monitor the excavation work, pile load test and construction work. Following pictures are taken during my supervision at the proposed JIS university site during shuttering (before casting) and during casting.

I was requested by the Advisor of Civil Works of JIS group to perform a thorough inspection of the proposed JIS university building. I performed two Non Destructive Tests (NDT), namely rebound hammer test and ultrasonic pulse velocity test.
