Field visits

Spring 2014:

The proposed JIS University building is a new building for Narula Institute of Technology which is under construction. I often used to monitor the quality of workmanship inside the building during casting of slabs. As I was requested by the Advisor of Civil Works of JIS group to perform a thorough inspection I performed Non Destructive Tests (NDT), e.g. rebound hammer test, ultrasonic pulse velocity test. During performing the NDT, I took couple of my students to the building who learned to perform the tests.

Spring 2013:

A visit to Texmaco Ltd.,Agarpara Work,Belgharia, Kolkata was arranged for the students of 2010-2014 Batch on 3rd March, 2013.The purpose of the visit is to introduce the students to the different material handling equipment such as industrial trucks & vehicles, conveyors, hoisting equipment, robotic handling system etc.This visit was beneficial for the students as they have “Materials Handling(Subject Code: CE605C )” and “Design of Steel Structures (CE 602)” as a theory papers.
