At Vanderbilt she was a lecturer in the Department of English and the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies. She also worked for The Curb Center for Art, Enterprise, and Public Policy.

After earning her Ph.D. in English from Vanderbilt University in December 2010, she moved to Madison, Wisconsin, where she helped organize the North American Victorian Studies Association (NAVSA) conference that was held in November 2011.  In the spring of 2012, she was a lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
