Local Resources for LGBTQ Youth

Oasis Center Programs

Just Us @ Oasis Center

Youth empowerment program designed specifically for high school students who identify within the LGBTQI spectrum. Weekly meetings every Tuesday 4:30 – 6:30, September – May.

Students of Stonewall @ Oasis Center

Youth leadership team comprised of high school students and college mentors who identify within the LGBTQI spectrum or as allies to the LGBTQI community. These student leaders work towards creating climate change for LGBTQI youth within the great Nashville community through research projects and community service initiatives. Application and interview process begins in May of each year.

Trans Youth Meet to Empower – TYME @ Oasis Center

Monthly youth empowerment meeting specifically for high school students who identify as transgender, gender queer, gender non-conforming, gender fluid, et al. Meetings are held the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. January through November.

PFLAG (Parents & Friends of Lesbians & Gays) of Nashville

Support group for parents of LGBTQI children held at Oasis Center the 3rd Tuesday of
the month from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. January through November.

Regional Resources

GLSEN of Middle TN (Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network)

Provides support and education to students who want to establish Gay Straight Alliances (GSA) as well as trains educators on creating safe spaces for LGBTQI students.
