Weeks of March 9 – 23
This update will serve as our update for the past 2 weeks, since classes were cancelled the week of March 9. We apologize for the delay in posting this update. We were notified on March 11 that we had to leave campus on March 15, so we were scrambling to say goodbye to all of our college friends and move out all of our belongings.
What we were planning to do
- Obtain blue memory foam (medium hardness) from Hanger Clinic
- A representative from Nonin contacted us to donate a regional oximeter! This is a technology that does not reply on a pulse to measure oxygen saturation in tissue. If blood flow becomes restricted, then oxygenated hemoglobin at the local area decreases. We wanted to start working with this to get spO2 measurements. We are very sad. 🙁
- Make measurements on a new limb sleeve made of flexible ABS resin rather than rigid SLA filament
How we will proceed with our project virtually
- Follow Dr. Walker’s course modification plan. Here are the specific tasks.
- Make a predictive failure model where we anticipate failures and discuss how we would design around these anticipated failures.
- Complete a safety analysis on how we would enhance the safety of our design.
- Complete a business model canvas for our project.
- Complete a marketing analysis.
- Create a poster
- Zoom meetings and constant communication over email and Google Drive with our teammates.
Wash your hands, folks!
