Assistant Professor, Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health, Department of Medicine<\/h3>\nAssistant Professor, Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health, Department of Medicine<\/h3>\nScott S. Lee, MD, PhD, MPA, MPhil<\/strong> is an Assistant Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health, Department of Medicine, and a Faculty Affiliate of the Vanderbilt Institute for Global Health. His research\u00a0uses insights from behavioral and organizational economics to improve health behavior and health care delivery in the United States and in developing countries. He\u00a0holds an\u00a0MD\/PhD in health policy and management from Harvard Medical School and completed residency in internal medicine at Brigham and Women\u2019s Hospital. Recent research projects include several field-based randomized controlled trials carried out in conjunction with\u00a0national governments in Africa and South Asia that evaluate the impact of various non-financial incentives, such as career opportunities, performance feedback, and self-tracking, on the performance of front-line health workers. His current research builds upon this work on provider incentives by designing and evaluating patient-side incentives to improve health behavior, with a focus on key drivers of cardiometabolic disease such as smoking, diet, and physical inactivity.<\/p>\n His research has\u00a0led to policy innovation at the national<\/a> and\u00a0international<\/a> level and has been profiled in media outlets such as The New York Times<\/a> and\u00a0Forbes<\/a>.<\/p>\n
