Parallels compatibility with Apple OSX Lion

Posted by on Monday, July 25, 2011 in Blog.

Paralles.com has provided the following information regarding Parallels compatibility with Mac OS X Lion:

  1. Parallels Desktop for Mac: Parallels Desktop for Mac users must install the latest version (version 6) and install the most current build in order to run on Lion.  You can install the latest build by going to the Parallels Desktop menu, selecting Check for Updates, and installing the latest build (6.0.12094). You should do this before upgrading to Lion. If you are using an older version of Parallels Desktop for Mac (version 4 or 5) and have a current Maintenance agreement, you can upgrade to Parallels Desktop 6 for Mac free of charge. For more information on the upgrade, please contact lionupdate@parallels.com.  If you are not under Maintenance and would like to upgrade, please contact the Parallels sales team at (425) 282-6448.
  2. Parallels Server for Mac 4: Parallels Server for Mac 4.0 users must install the latest build before installing Lion.

For both Parallels Desktop for Mac and Parallels Server for Mac, Parallels current support for Lion is limited to being able to run its products on a Lion host operating system. Future versions will include support for Lion-specific features.
