Microsoft Campus Agreement Saves Vanderbilt Students and Employees over $3 Million

Microsoft released Windows 8 during October 2012. Students pay $0 and employees pay $9.75 for Windows 8 through the Vanderbilt Software Store.

These discounts are benefits of Vanderbilt’s Microsoft Campus Agreement. Specifically:

• Students qualify for $0 copies of Microsoft Office and Windows Upgrade through the Campus Agreement Student Option Program
• Employees are eligible to buy Windows Upgrade for $9.75 through the Campus Agreement Work at Home Program
• Employees can purchase Office for $9.95 through the Campus Agreement Home Use Program

Since Vanderbilt introduced the Campus Agreement during July 2010:

• Students saved $591,787 on Office Mac
• Students saved $901,901 on Office PC
• Students saved $794,899 on Windows Upgrade
• Employees saved $361,754 on Windows Upgrade
• Employees saved $607,518 on Office PC
• Employees saved $175,789 on Office Mac

16,169 students and 7,183 employees took advantage of these discounts for a total cost savings of $3,433,649.
