MATLAB Platform Support

MathWorks recently announced the following changes for MATLAB platform support:

  • OS X 10.10 (Yosemite): Support begins with R2014b
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7: Support begins with R2014b
  • Ubuntu 14.04 LTS: Support begins with R2014b

Dropped Platforms:

  • Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2008: R2015a will be the last release that supports Windows XP, Vista, Windows Server 2003 R2, and Windows Server 2008.
  • 32-bit Windows: Mathworks will drop support for 32-bit Windows within the next year and a half.
  • OS X 10.7 (Lion) and OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion): R2015a will the last release that supports Lion and Mountain Lion.
  • Ubuntu 12.04 LTS: R2014a was the last release that supported Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.
