MATLAB & Simulink with Raspberry Pi Workshop at Vanderbilt

Posted by on Thursday, November 6, 2014 in News.

Mathworks is hosting a free MATLAB workshop on campus next week.

  • Date: November 12, 2014
  • Time: 2:00-5:00 p.m.
  • Location: 298 Jacobs Hall
  • Register

This hands-on workshop provides an introduction to Simulink’s hardware support capabilities.

Using Raspberry Pi as the target platform, participants will develop, simulate, and test custom algorithms, and deploy them on a Raspberry Pi platform from within the Simulink environment.  Lab modules will include examples of video and image processing: From simple video in/out handling, to more sophisticated processing such as object recognition and edge detection.

The workshop will provide practical hands-on experience, and by extension offer the attendees an understanding of the potential for use in the classroom, research, and student projects.

At the end of this workshop, the participant will be able to:

•   Design, simulate and test custom algorithms in Simulink

•   Implement these algorithms on embedded hardware

•   Tune parameters, and optimize algorithm as it runs on hardware

•   Discover the ease of using Simulink to develop and deploy complex algorithms

Note:

•   The necessary laptops, software, and Raspberry Pi Kits will be made available to attendees for the duration of the workshop.

•   We have a limited class size for this workshop. Register now and we will contact you to confirm your seat.

•   Faculty, staff and graduate students will be given preference as attendees.

•   Knowledge of MATLAB is nice-to-have, but not necessary
