Microsoft offers .NET server core stack via open source, introduces free Visual Studio

On November 12, Microsoft announced:

  1. It is going to open source the full server-side .NET core stack
  2. The open source version of .NET will support Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux
  3. Visual Studio Community 2013 is available and offers free access to all Visual Studio features
  4. Visual Studio 2015 Preview and .NET 2015 Preview are available
  5. Visual Studio 2013 Update 4 is available to every Visual Studio 2013 user
  6. It is adding Visual Studio Online Release Management service and Visual Studio Cloud Deployment Projects to Visual Studio Online
