For their sophomore research project, Emma Bilbrey and Natalie O’Dell created a new tool for measuring the quality of the retraction notices of published scientific articles. As the title of their article states, the development of such a rubric is unique and unprecedented. With the mentorship of their SSMV advisor and co-author, Dr. Jonathan Creamer, they prepared their manuscript for submission to a scientific journal and this month they received news that their article, A novel rubric for rating the quality of retraction notices, was published in the journal Publications.  This is the sixth professional publication by SSMV students for work completed while participating in the program.
