Dr. Tedra Walden

At Vanderbilt, Dr. Walden is a Professor of Hearing and Speech Sciences, an Investigator for Vanderbilt Kennedy Center for Research on Human Development, and a Professor of Psychology. She is interested in early social and emotional development of young children. Her research focuses on the way in which the social environment influence children’s emotional responses. Current research projects include studies of social referencing of parents by their children and development of emotion regulation. She also focuses on the understanding of other persons’ intentions and children who are at risk for attention problems. Current studies of at-risk children focus on autism and stuttering in early social and emotional development of young children.

Dr. Matthew Walker III

Dr. Walker is an Associate Professor of the Practice of Biomedical Engineering at the Engineering School at Vanderbilt Engineering. He spent many years making significant impact in drug development through biotechnology. He currently advises biomedical engineering senior design teams in the innovation and development of groundbreaking designs.
