{"id":3,"date":"2016-11-02T16:32:31","date_gmt":"2016-11-02T21:32:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/my.vanderbilt.edu\/tlwebpage\/homepage\/"},"modified":"2024-08-28T08:13:34","modified_gmt":"2024-08-28T13:13:34","slug":"homepage","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/my.vanderbilt.edu\/tlwebpage\/","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tong\u00a0Li is Gertrude Conaway Vanderbilt Chair in Social and Natural Sciences and Professor of Economics at the <a href=\"http:\/\/as.vanderbilt.edu\/econ\/\">Department of Economics<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vanderbilt.edu\/\">Vanderbilt University<\/a>. His primary research and teaching interests are microeconometrics with a focus on identification and inference of econometric models with latent variables, and game-theoretic models. \u00a0He also studies dynamic\/nonlinear panel data models, and empirical microeconomics with a focus on empirical analysis of strategic behavior of agents with asymmetric information. In addition, he studies causal inference and develops methods in identification and estimation of treatment effects that can be used in analyzing microeconomic data and evaluating policies. His research has been supported by the National Science Foundation and the American Statistical Association Committee on Law and Justice Statistics. He has served as an associate editor of the <em>Journal of Econometrics<\/em>, the <em>Journal of Applied Econometrics<\/em>, the <em>Journal of Econometric Methods<\/em>, and the <em>Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization,\u00a0<\/em>and he is currently serving as Co-Editor of the <em>Journal of Econometric Methods<\/em>. Since 1999 he has supervised seventeen Ph.D. dissertations and has placed students on faculty at London School of Economics, National Chi-Nan University, North Carolina State University, National University of Singapore, Queens University, Remin University of China, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Temple University, University of Alabama, University of Texas at San Antonio, and also at Amazon and Google as economist\/data scientist, among others.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tong\u00a0Li is Gertrude Conaway Vanderbilt Chair in Social and Natural Sciences and Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics, Vanderbilt University.
