  1. Create four separate coronal ROI regions (at approx. coronal slice 111 and 118), two for each side, anterior to the seed region. (only 2 of the 4 coronal ROI regions are essential)

  1. Create one ROA region and draw a sagittal ROA slice at the midline
  1. fiber tracking. Based on this output, ROA placement will be clearer.
  1. Using the same ROA file, draw one more region on the same coronal slice from step #3 exclude the ROI region in your ROA region
  1. In the region list, check only the left seed/ROI region and ROA regions, then perform fiber tracking. Under the tract list, make sure only the desired left tract is checked and highlighted in purple. Save region, tract, and density files.
  1. Uncheck the left seed/ROI region and check the right seed/ROI region and ROA region, then perform fiber tracking. Make sure only the desired right tract is checked and highlighted in purple. Save region, tract, and density files.

Again the text protocol only calls for ROAs in the saggital midline and on the coronal slice surrounding ROI 3, but the pictures definitely have an axial ROA at the bottom of the brain. Seems like this needs at least 2 axial ROA regions to get rid of extra streamlines that are superior/ inferior to this bundle.
