USAC Newsletter for August 2017
Hope you all were able to celebrate the once-in-a-lifetime astronomical event that occurred this past Monday, the Solar Eclipse! This was the first total solar eclipse to traverse the entire United States in 99 years. It was amazing to see the excitement that took place across this University as the skies turned dark for those couple of minutes.
Traffic and Parking
Our August meeting was jam packed with a lot of information so please review our meeting minutes. We were privileged to have Tracy Owens (Asst. Director of Traffic and Parking) and Eric Kopstain (Vice-Chancellor for Administration) speak to the changes that are taking place that we will start to see this academic year as well as the future of traffic and parking that we will see over the next several years. A recording of their presentation and blog post are available.
Phishing and Malicious Emails
We also heard from Masood Sidiqyar, VUIT’s Director of Security Operations, who provided information on how to spot malicious emails and how to avoid becoming victims of phishing attacks. To learn more or for additional information about phishing and how to protect yourself, please read this article.
