USAC Newsletter September 2017
As we welcomed the first day of fall a few days ago, I am excited to see our campus transform as the leaves begin to change colors and temperature begin to cool. Our September meeting had a lot of information that was shared so please review our meeting minutes.
Values at Vanderbilt
We were privileged to have Barb Carroll, Chief Human Resources Officer, lead us in an interactive presentation on values at Vanderbilt.
PARK(ing) Day
I hope you all were able to take part in PARK(ing) Day or able to just get outside and enjoy this fall weather.
Employee Hardship Fund
Jim Kendall, Manager with Work Life Connections, came and spoke to us about the Employee Hardship Fund and the significant role it plays in the lives of our staff that have experienced a temporary hardship. If you are already signed up with Kroger Community Rewards, now is the time to access your account and renew your enrollment.
Employee Tailgate
Hope you all were able to participate in the Employee Tailgate as we hosted #18 Kansas State and walked away with an exciting victory over the Wildcats. If you were able to attend (or even if you weren’t) please read about, and take a look, at the excitement!
Go for the Gold
Earlier this month the International Olympic Committee announced that Paris would host the 2024 Summer Olympics and Los Angeles would host the 2028 Summer Olympics. As these athletes will be competing for the gold, each of us are able to win the gold medal as well through Vanderbilt’s award-winning three-step Go for the Gold Program. Deadline to have all 3 steps completed is October 31st.
