Vanderbilt Divinity School Professor, Amy-Jill Levine, recently released her latest book titled Short Stories By Jesus.<\/em><\/p>\n

Levine is University Professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies;\u00a0the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Professor of\u00a0New Testament Studies in the Divinity School; Professor of Jewish Studies; and Professor of New Testament Studies.<\/p>\n

The renowned Biblical scholar has authored a number of notable works includingThe Misunderstood Jew: The Church and the Scandal of the Jewish Jesus<\/em> (HarperOne), the edited collection, The Historical Jesus in Context <\/em>(Princeton), and the fourteen-volume edited series, Feminist Companions to the New Testament and Early Christian Writings (Continuum). Levine is also a general editor for The Jewish Annotated New Testament<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In Short Stories By Jesus: The Enigmatic Parables of a Controversial Rabbi <\/em>(HarperOne, 2014), Levine reinterprets Jesus\u2019 narratives by introducing the reader to \u201cproblems with parables.\u201d She reveals and analyzes the connections between first-century Jewish and Roman culture and the Gospel scriptures.<\/p>\n
