I am a first generation college student and I am a first generation PhD Student. I got my B.S in Bioengineering from the University of California San Diego. Currently, I am a third year PhD candidate in the Chemical and Physical Biology PhD program. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun Fact:\u00a0<\/strong>I am a fan of the horror genre and Spider-man<\/p>\n<p><strong>Research: <\/strong>My research focuses in using sequencing technologies to profile the gene regulatory elements in the developing retina. I got my B.S in Cellular and Molecular Biochemistry at the University of Texas at El Paso while still living in Mexico. My time here in Nashville is my first time living in the USA. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun Fact: <b>\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I am involved in the feminist movement in Mexico, so I have made a TedxTalk where I address femicides and gender violence. I began my bachelors degree in the University of Puerto Rico, Mayag\u00fcez campus, and transferred to the University of Central Florida to finish my degree in Biomedical Sciences.
