The past few years have seen the rapid ascent of the metal organic halide perovskites, which provide excellent optoelectronic properties including record-long photocarrier diffusion lengths. Here we report on our group’s latest efforts to build practical devices for efficient, low-cost solar energy capture and light generation using these advanced energy materials and combinations thereof.

Bio: Ted Sargent holds the Canada Research Chair in Nanotechnology at the University of Toronto, where he also serves as Vice Dean for Research for the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering.
