This project involves measuring fluxes of carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) from two Quaternary calderas in the United States. Valles Caldera in New Mexico and Yellowstone Caldera in Wyoming are home to a suite of natural sources of CO2 and CH4 including mud volcanoes, fumarolic vents, expansive altered soils over faulted reservoirs, hot springs, and geysers.
