Enroll now in Multi-Factor Authentication

Posted by on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 in News.

Vanderbilt University is taking the next steps in the fight against cyberattacks by deploying a Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) solution, Duo.

MFA is the requirement to provide two different ways of verifying your identity when logging into a secure environment. MFA uses proof of identity through the combination of something you know (e.g., password) and something you have (e.g., mobile device), or some form of biometric information (e.g., a fingerprint). MFA is very familiar in interactions such as online banking, secure purchasing, and a variety of other online activities. Adoption of MFA will be a crucial enhancement to Vanderbilt University’s technology security.

MFA has joined the service offerings of VUIT and enrollment in Duo is now available. MFA will be added to applications based on pertinence and applicability. If you are interested in leveraging MFA for an application, please contact your Relationship Manager.

For enrollment and additional information, please visit the MFA website.
