Vanderbilt Enterprise SSL VPN Certificate Change

Posted by on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 in Outage.

Beginning Oct. 15 at 7 a.m., the Vanderbilt IT Network Security team will implement a change that imports a new certificate, which will only support the URL vpn.vanderbilt.edu. This new certificate will optimize cost and support. Once this change is complete, clients configured for the URLs vpn.mc.vanderbilt.edu or vpn.ea.vanderbilt.edu will receive an untrusted certificate warning. Users are encouraged to reconfigure clients before this change takes effect by following the instructions below.

  1. Open the Pulse client and highlight the connection being used to access the Vanderbilt Enterprise SSL VPN. Once highlighted, click “Edit.”
  2. Change the URL line to vpn.vanderbilt.edu.
  3. Click “Save.” This completes the required change. The user may click “Connect” to verify that the connection is working normally.

**If the user still reports a problem after the above steps have been completed, please submit a ticket through Pegasus to CI: VPN-SERVICE for assistance from a VUIT Network Security representative.
