VUIT Scheduled Maintenance: Sprint Wireless

The university’s Sprint cellular system will be down on Thursday, Sept. 22, for a short outage at approximately 7 p.m. and again on Friday, Sept. 23, at 5 a.m. During this time, Mann Wireless will swap out the existing distributed antenna system (DAS) radio heads with more advanced units. Upon removing and replacing the radio for the DAS, the company will test and verify the radio frequency throughout the new system. This upgrade will allow for future advancements within the Sprint network.

This change will only affect the university’s Sprint voice and data service. This same maintenance will be performed for VUMC on Wednesday, Sept. 21.
