257 Microsoft Exchange email users have been impacted from scheduled maintenance

This morning during scheduled maintenance, Microsoft Exchange email patching has resulted in impacting email access for 257 users. We are working to restore full service of email. Greek Row Fiber Cable Cut Update:

A fiber optic cable in the Greek Row area was damaged by construction activity as previously reported. VUIT contractors have completed the repairs. Import Certificate Chain from Google

Beginning at 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 16, the VUMC IT Identity team will import Google’s complete certificate chain to resolve SSL Handshake Exception issues. This will resolve intermittent issues when accounts are created in the Student Registration Application.  This procedure is expected to require downtime of AccessVU tools and applications, beginning at approximately 7:30 p.m….

Greek Row Fiber Cable Cut Update:

VUGmail Outage – Update

Last night as of 11 p.m. CST, Gmail mail delivery is back to normal. Emails sent from non-Vanderbilt accounts to VU Gmail accounts between March 5 at 5 pm to March 6 at 11 p.m. have been stored. VUIT is currently working on a solution to deliver those messages as soon as possible.

VUGmail Outage

On March 5, at approximately 5:00 p.m., mail flow to Gmail for undergraduate VU students have stopped. Technicians are working to restore mail flow and deliver messages queued in the meantime. Mail flow can expect to be restored within the next few hours. Efforts to deliver queued messages will begin thereafter.

AccessVU scheduled downtime on Wednesday, Feb. 21

On Wednesday, Feb. 21, from 8:45 to 11 p.m., VUMC IT will deploy server patches to reduce security vulnerabilities. As a result, AccessVU will experience a period of downtime between 8:45 and 9:45 p.m. During the downtime, account creation, management and password change functionality will be unavailable via AccessVU.
