Wolfram Research, maker of Mathematica, invites the Vanderbilt community to a free Mathematica 8 Tech Talk:

• Topic: Mathematica 8 in Education and Research

Mr. Schaudt will illustrate capabilities in Mathematica 8 that are directly applicable for use in teaching and research on campus. Topics include:

• Free-form linguistic input
• 2D and 3D visualization
• Dynamic interactivity & On-demand scientific data
• Example-driven course materials
• Symbolic interface construction
• Digital Image Processing, Parallelization, and Control Systems functionality

Prior knowledge of Mathematica is not required.
