I\u00a0was a research assistant professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Vanderbilt University.\u00a0 In some position or other, I have worked at Vanderbilt for nearly 31 years.\u00a0 I have various research and computer interests: gravitational radiation, exoplanets, lasers, charged particle beams, particle physics, nonlinear dynamics, and point-of-care PCR machines. \u00a0I have spent a lot of my career working on control systems for large and small hardware projects.\u00a0 I also like most things computer like Linux (been using since version 99 patch level 7, circa 1993), Python, Mathematica, LabVIEW, C\/C++, and more. \u00a0No chance yet to play with virtual reality or augmented reality gear, but will one day.<\/p>\n
