With support from NIH-NIDDK, Dr. Martinez and colleagues are currently engaged in the design and testing of My Diabetes Care (MDC).  MDC is a patient portal intervention designed to support diabetes understanding and self-management. By employing an innovative approach pairing Design Sprint methodology developed by GV (Alphabet Inc., Mountain View, CA) with rigorous, mixed-methods usability assessments, we were able to efficiently and effectively design an intervention that addresses the needs of users, incorporates recommended strategies for increasing user engagement and behavior change, and is satisfying and easy to use.
