Mark’s review article on microfluidic approaches to radiotracer synthesis published in Lab on a Chip!
Feb. 27, 2024—This article provides an in-depth discussion of the current state of microfluidic approaches to radiotracer synthesis, and describes the additional steps needed for this concept to truly enable personalized medicine in the context of PET imaging and radiotheranostics. https://doi.org/10.1039/D3LC00779K
Romario’s paper on cooling-triggered reactions is published!
Aug. 9, 2022—Romario demonstrated that thermoresponsive hydrogels can be used to enable cooling-triggered reactions. Typically one thinks of adding heat to a set of reagents to initiate a reaction; in this approach, one has to cool the system down to start the reaction. The approach can be generalized to various reaction types and the triggering temperature can...
Multiple positions available for graduate students interested in tissue engineering!
Aug. 27, 2021—We currently have multiple openings for graduate students interested in tissue engineering, microfluidics, human brain organoids, and non-traditional micropatterning approaches. These positions are supported by projects funded by NIH and NSF. Interested students should contact Prof. Bellan for more details.
Our work on a new treatment for burn wounds is published
Aug. 9, 2021—Exciting results from our collaboration with Dr. Wes Thayer at Vanderbilt University Medical Center were just published! Check out the manuscript here.
Brian’s paper on GelMA-Cad is published in ACS Biomaterials Science and Engineering
Aug. 28, 2020—Brian’s paper describes a new bioinstructive hydrogel we call GelMA-Cad. Not only is it easily patterned, but it promotes survival and maturation of iPSC-derived neurons, and facilities their assembly into synaptically connected networks. This is the latest result from our extensive collaborative efforts with the Lippmann lab, where Brian is now a postdoc. Check out...
Xin’s latest paper on microfluidic devices to synthesize PET tracers is published in Molecular Imaging and Biology!
Jul. 13, 2020—Xin’s paper describing simple, high throughput synthesis of ready-to-use [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 (a critically important PET tracer for identifying prostate cancer cells) is published in Molecular Imaging and Biology! Congratulations Xin!
